What do Alumni say about Islander?
"Joining SSS Islander gave me the opportunity to develop as both a mariner and a leader alongside like-minded young adults. I discovered my love of boating and seamanship through sea scouts, and I developed friendships that will last a lifetime. Honestly, most of my favorite memories of my teenage years came from being a member of the Islander. I even turned the leadership and maritime experience I gained in sea scouts into a career in the US Navy after commissioning through NROTC in college. Joining Islander was definitively one of the best decisions I’ve ever made."

“When I joined Islander at 16, I honestly did not have much of a direction in life. I’m forever grateful for the mentorship and lifelong friendships I’ve made during the time I spent as part of the crew, and I will continue to offer my guidance for youth looking to be a part of the ship."

“Islander has been a consistently positive guiding force throughout my youth that introduced me to brotherhood, career opportunities, discipline and appreciation for watercraft."
