Quartermaster Project

Dear Sea Scout Families,

I’m reaching out to ask for your support as our crew member, Preston Halbert, takes on his Quartermaster project—a significant milestone in his journey as a Sea Scout. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Scouts, families, and community to come together and make a difference.

Project Details

📅Dates: Friday 31 January to Saturday 01 February 2025

⏰Time: 10 AM to 2 PM each day

📍Mary Star of the Sea High School, 2500 N Taper Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731

What’s the Project About?

Preston’s project involves clearing out a cluttered area behind the school workshop, including debris like wood, metal, and piping. The team will also cut down dried, flammable bushes to improve safety and reorganize the space for better long-term use. If time and manpower allow, they’ll also construct shelves to prevent future clutter.

How Can You Help

  • Volunteer: We’d love to have as many hands as possible! Parents and family members are welcome to join. Your presence will make a big difference. (Sign up here)
  • Spread the Word: Encourage other families and friends to participate. The more people, the faster the work!
  • Donate: Preston has created a GoFundMe to cover costs for food, water, gloves, and other supplies. Every contribution—big or small—helps ensure the team has what they need.
  • Special Assistance: If you have a trailer or truck that could help haul scrap metal, or if you can assist with transporting debris, please let us know.
